Welcome to the 2022 Delivery Season
The 2022 Veggie Box delivery season begins with deliveries April 22 thru May 2. We’ve had many requests for vegetable deliveries. I spent last year (2021) taking care of mom as her health declined. This year, I have lots of things growing: May Peas, Potatoes, Swiss Chard, Beans Zucchini, Squash and more..
Martha Jo Bateman Snowden (1942-2021)
I’m sad to announce that mom passed away early on the morning of November 12, 2021 at home in Maple, NC.
She loved farming, and riding along with me on the Veggie Box deliveries. She enjoyed meeting our customers and sharing her favorite recipes with them in our travels.

Order deadline for the weekend orders
The deadline to place your order for box delivery on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday of each week is every Wednesday at 12 midnight.
Adopt-a-Sunflower
We’ve implemented a Roadside Beautification project along our fields facing NC 168 (Caratoke Highway) and Maple Rd (SR1246). Phase I was picking up trash along those roadside fields – we gathered three 18 gallon tubs of assorted debris! Phase II involved planting over a mile of sunflowers in Maple, and more to come in Barco. Follow this link to Adopt-a-Sunflower !

Farm News
Jody and I have been busy all winter. In addition to the 28 acres of farmland under lease in Maple, we broke ground on some new farmland in Barco, where we currently have 3 acres of 40 total cleared of scrub brush, tilled and planted. We’re growing potatoes of all colors (Red, White, Blue, Gold, Russet and Norland); several varieties of May Peas’ several varieties of Squash & Zucchini; and Swiss Chard. The Barco property features a 49,000 year old oyster reef on the Land of Promise ridge, from a time when sea level was 3 meters (10 feet) higher. Check out our Facebook page for pictures and details.
Food Quality / Return & Replacement Policy
All food items are inspected for defects / spoilage as your boxes are packed. Delivery Boxes are packed the evening before OR the morning of your delivery day. As expected, some items can have hidden defects; ripen in the confines of the delivery box; or become damaged in transport. We offer a 100%, no questions asked return/replacement policy. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have problems with an item or items in your delivery!
Steps for alerting us to problems:

- State the nature of the problem with your box/items
- We will schedule a followup/replacement delivery
- In some cases, we have issued refunds OR credits for future deliveries
We value you as a customer, and value the trust you place in our farm for supplying food to your table.
Food Assistance
Do you know someone who needs food assistance? A portion of our weekly food deliveries are set aside for Food Assistance boxes.

We have approximately 25 Veggie Boxes and 25 Fruit Boxes available each week for food assistance. The Veggie Box also contains a package of pasta, rice, canned tuna, spaghetti sauce, and a variety of canned vegetables and soup All food assistance suggestions are kept anonymous.
Anyone who wishes to purchase Veggi-eBucks to help with the Food Assistance Program may do so by purchasing $1, $2, $5, $10, $20
Funds from Veggi-eBucks for Food Assistance help us purchase the dry goods placed in each box.

We are now accepting delivery requests for Kitty Hawk, Southern Shores, Duck, Sandering and the Currituck Outer Banks ( Corolla ). We need 15 delivery requests in Corolla/Carova Beach to make this service viable.
